Pascasarjana UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta will host the ENIS/NISIS-MIDA Summer School 2022 on "Mobility and Mobilisation in Muslim Societies" on June 20-24, 2022. The school is convened by Prof. Christian Lange (NISIS), Dr. Pascal Buresi (MIDA), and Prof. Noorhaidi Hasan (UIN Sunan Kalijaga/UIII). The school will address the issue of mobility and mobilization as two interrelated dimensions in the structure of Muslim societies that have played an important role in shaping the societies’ religious, intellectual, and political development throughout the centuries of their history.
Eight keynote speakers from different fields of Islamic studies will deliver their speech during the plenary session in the morning. They are Prof. Martin van Bruinessen (Utrecht University), Dr. Syafiq Hasyim (UIII), Prof. Claudia Derichs (Humboldt University of Berlin), Dr. Sunarwoto (UIN Sunan Kalijaga), Prof. Edith Franke (Marburg University), Dr. Istiqomah (IAIN Ambon), Dr. David Kloos (KITLV), and Dr. Syamsul Rijal (UIN Syarif Hidayatullah/UIII). Meanwhile, a number of selected students from different countries (Indonesia, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, England, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Italy, Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon, Iran, and Pakistan) will present their papers during the panel sessions in the afternoon. Among those selected are eight students of Pascasarjana UIN Sunan Kalijaga. They are Muhammad Naufal Waliyuddin, Noor Hidayah, Annisa Fitri Amaliah, Firmanda Taufiq, Muhammad Mufti Al Achsan, Ulfa Ramadhani Nasution, Egi Tanadi Taufik, and Dzalfa Farida Humaira.
