Syafiq Hasyim is a lecturer and director of the Library and Culture at the International Islamic University of Indonesia (UIII), which is an international university designed as a future campus for the study and research of Islamic civilization.

He is also a lecturer at FISIP UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. He is currently attending a Visiting Fellow at the Indonesia Studies Program, ISEAS (Yusof Ishak Institute). Syafiq Hasyim obtained a Ph.D from Freire University, Germany in 2014 and an MA degree from Leiden University, the Netherlands in 2002. Another experience, from 2018-2019 he has been a Visiting Fellow at the Indosia Program RSIA, NTU, Singapore.

His research interests are Islamic Studies and Multiculturalism. Among his published works are:
